Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study conducted time studies of commercial thinning operations by a forest owners' co-operative and developed calculation formulas of direct operation expenses considering log sizes. The calculation formulas were applied to forest GIS data and availability of forest biomass resources were projected as supply potentials from profitable stands. An effect of aggregating stands and establishing forest road networks on availability was examined. Disposal processes of forestry machines and power generation plants were investigated and energy balances including disposal processing were analyzed.
