| Research Abstract |
To help visually-impaired people to utilize printed barcode for product identification, this research realized improvement of (1) equipments, (2) packages, and (3) provided product information.
(1) includes: image processing algorithm for barcode localization, mobile terminal that speaks best-before-date, and jigs for barcode scanning; (2) includes a new tactile package without additional production cost, package design guide; (3) includes additional data management such as cooking instructions and allergens.
The tactile packages are scheduled to be appeared on the real market in latter half of 2014. Experimental system will be improved and released at the time.
