Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Biological recovery function after stress has to date been proposed for the mediation process into cardiovascular health. I followed up the 56 adolescent men and measured cardiovascular health index (blood pressure, body-mass index, time of physical activity, and smoking status), personality trait (optimism, pessimism, and depression, etc.), and a stress-related reactive-recovery blood pressure function over an average of 3.4 yrs. Results suggest that a high pessimistic trait and a sustained sympathetic recovery function after stress mediate the cardiovascular health as a psycho-physiological factor.
