Research Abstract |
Conventional recycling process for iridium using hydrometallurgical process requires long processing time for its dissolution. Moreover, there is a problem of detoxification treatment for waste water containing strong oxidizing acid. From these background, with the aim of development of high-speed dissolution process using electrolysis of iridium in a high temperature molten salt, fundamental study using a chloride molten salt was conducted. Fundamental properties of electrolysis regarding anodic dissolution behaviors such as current density and current efficiency were investigated.
