Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We have shown that mesenteric hypoperfusion due to circulatory shock elaborates bioactive agents in mesenteric lymph which result in subsequent distant organ injury. Severe traumatic shock cases usually involve soft tissue injury. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of soft tissue injury on mesenteric lymph bioactivity and organ injury. Homogenized tissue matrix transplantation increased mesenteric lymph bioactivity.
