Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We are interested in developing a prophylactic method for oocyte aging. To compare small molecule metabolites and embryo quality, we used embryos from C57BL/6J mice (as a model of high quality embryo) and DBA/2J mice (as a model of low quality embryo). Our results showed that the amount of specific metabolites associated with amino acids contained in DBA/2J embryos are lower than the amount of metabolites contained in C57BL/6J embryos. Also we found that the developmental rate of DBA/2J embryos were improved using novel medium including these specific metabolites.
