Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The present study examined the characteristics of spatial attention during pursuit of objects moving in depth. Firstly, we measured reaction times to the offset of one of objects moving in depth. We found shorter reaction times for the offset of object located in the pursuit direction. Secondly, we examined three dimensional distribution of attention during fixation. The results suggest that attention can be spread in three dimensional space. Finally, we examined the effects of attentional resources on pursuit accuracy during smooth pursuit of a horizontally moving object. We found the tradeoff between pursuit accuracy and reaction times.
