Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This research examined seismic performance of Japanese traditional timber structures in consideration of deterioration by beetles. First, strength tests were conducted in order to evaluate strength and joint properties of old members deteriorated by beetles. Second, the methods of evaluating deterioration degree were established. Finally, the numerical analyses were conducted to figure out the effect of the deterioration on the earthquake responses of the Japanese traditional timber structures.
