Outline of Final Research Achievements |
To find a novel atrial specific gene, we conducted comparable gene array analysis between neonatal rat atrial and ventricular cardiomyocytes. To conduct gene array analysis, we purified cardiomyocytes. Then, we successfully discovered an new atrial specific gene. To identify the transcriptional regulatory elements of the gene, we conducted a reporter gene assay and find an one of the transcriptional regions. In addition, we investigated the function of the gene by using KO mice.
