Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We established the method how to evaluate the effect of saturated fatty acid on colorectal carcinogenesis by continuous jugular infusion or intraperitoneal injection of fatty acid. We clarified that saturated fatty acid (palmitate) acts as a growth factor for colonic epithelial cell proliferation in colon carcinogenesis via saturated fatty acid/Toll-like receptor 4/JNK pathway.
