Research Abstract

本研究領域では、多彩な生命現象と疾患病態に関与している「活性酸素による生理的シグナル伝達機能」の解明に向けて、化学と生物系が融合したケミカルバイオロジーの新たな視点から、活性酸素のシグナル伝達研究を展開する。このため、生物化学、生化学、細胞生物学、分子生物学、医学生物学・臨床医学の幅広い分野の第一人者が一堂に会してそれぞれの専門分野を深く探究しながら、互いに緊密な有機的連携を図ることが必須である。本領域の総括班では、研究推進方策の検討、領域の評価と助言を行い、さらに、当該分野の国際的な学術連携と人材育成に取組む。特にケミカルバイオロジーという生物・化学系の領域を跨いだ学際的研究の成果として、活性酸素のシグナル機能に関する新規解析技法の開発を推進する。
