Research Abstract

総括班では、各計画研究の有機的連携を促すためのハブ機能を重視して、領域全体の方向性確認を目的としたミーティングの開催を行った。また、公開シンポジウムやwebページを通した情報発信に積極的に取り組んだ。平成22年度の主な取り組みとしては、(1)領域ホームページの開設(7月)、(2)第1回総括班会議の開催(9月15日、福岡)、(3)研究成果の取りまとめとweb公開(10月)、(4)国際幹細胞シンポジウムのジョイント開催(2月、シンガポール)、(5)第2回総括班会議の開催(3月、福岡)、(6)公開シンポジウムの開催(3月、福岡)、(7)公募研究の募集と評価などである。総括班会議では、各計画研究の進捗状況を評価し、領域全体における位置づけと他の計画研究との連携可能性について検討を重ねた。また、シンガポール幹細胞シンポジウムでは、海外研究協力者であるDaniel G.Tenen博士をはじめとする海外の幹細胞研究者との意見交換の場を提供し、班員のモチベーションを高めるよい機会となった。さらに、3月の公開シンポジウムでは、話題のエピジェネティクス分野から九州大学の大川恭行先生、癌幹細胞分野から班員の佐谷秀行先生に最新知見の講演をいただき、70名を越す若手研究者による熱心な議論の場となった。また、シンポジウム参加者を対象としたアンケート調査を実施し、当該研究領域が学術的にも社会的にも極めて重要な分野であるとの調査結果を得た。班員からの新着論文のうち主要な業績に関しては、解りやすい解説をつけてwebページに公開し、社会への貢献に努めている。
