Outline of Annual Research Achievements

計画前半の公募班と共に推進した期間の最終年度として、多元的な研究の場を提供すべく、各種集会や研究会、技術講習会を開催した。また若手の育成のための若手の会や、シンポジウムを企画し、本年度は以下の総括班活動を推進した。
5月14,15日　領域班会議（研究成果報告会）（キャンパスプラザ京都）；5月16日　ゼニゴケ研究支援ワークショップ（京都大学）；6月5日　第48回日本発生生物学会年会（つくば）シンポジウム開催”Topics in plant and animal development”；8月20-23日　日本進化学会大会シンポジウム　共催（中央大学）；8月27,28,31日、9月1日　ERATO東山ライブホロニクスプロジェクト主催・国際シンポジウム＆テクニルワークショップ共催；9月14日　数理モデル研究会（大阪大学理学部）；11月6日、7日　　国立遺伝学研究所研究会-植物の生殖成長期の発生を制御する分子機構（共催）；11月24日-26日　若手ワークショップ（小豆島ふるさと村）；平成28年1月19日、20日　領域班会議（研究成果発表会）（大阪大学豊中キャンパス国際棟シグマホール）；2月13-15日　メタボローム勉強会　（山形・理研鶴岡ブランチ）
また研究支援のための転写因子ライブラリー（シロイヌナズナ2455転写因子がエントリークローン化された）の作成と配布、６班９テーマのメタボローム解析、ゼニゴケ研究支援、数理解析支援、マイクロアレイ解析、また研究成果に関するフォーラム活動を推進した。特にゼニゴケに関しては、ポータルサイトを立ち上げ、実験技術手法や研究コミュニティーへの提言を含めたPCP誌特集号を企画し、出版した。
上記支援の結果、領域全体でNature, Science, Cell, Nature Comm., EMBO J., PNAS, Current Biol., Plant Cell, PLoS Genetなど一流誌に多数の成果発表が実現している。

Current Status of Research Progress

1: Research has progressed more than it was originally planned.

Reason

領域全体の目標として掲げた｢教科書に載る・教科書の従来の記述を塗り替える｣成果を班員が出すにあたって必要な研究支援を推進してきた。その結果として、すでに、従来の仮説と異なる、背腹性制御の変化によらない壺状葉の形成メカニズム(Nature Comm) 、温度刺激は植物の場合、表皮の生物時計が情報処理をしていることの発見(Nature Plants)、機構の密度制御に置いて２因子が競合的に働くことの発見（Nature）など、研究開始時点には想定していなかった全く新規の知見が得られている。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

後半年度は公募班員が一部交代となるので、新規メンバーが､支援班の活動をスムーズに取り入れて研究を加速できるようにケアをしつつ、さらに領域全体が密な共同研究の場を構築するよう工夫を重ねる。これにより、｢教科書に載る・教科書の従来の記述を塗り替える｣成果を班員がさらに多数出せるようにしたい。
