Outline of Annual Research Achievements

豊後水道周辺域において2020年8,9月に実施した海域構造探査の解析を進めるとともに,過去に取得された地震探査データについて再解析を進め,プレート境界周辺の構造とスロー地震活動との比較検討を行った.その結果,沈み込む堆積層の厚さとテクトニック微動との活動度に相関がある可能性を明らかにした.
2019年11月に四国西部の陸域で取得した構造探査データと既存のデータを統合し,反射法解析を適用した.得られた反射断面図からは,短期的スロースリップの積算すべり量が大きな領域で,沈み込むプレートに対応する北傾斜の反射帯が明瞭になることを明らかにした.また,四国全域を対象としたレシーバー関数解析によって,沈み込む海洋モホ面の凹凸を明らかにし,四国東部の深部低周波微動活動と,海山の沈み込みに伴うと考えられる構造不均質との関係について調査を進めた.
日本全国にわたる地震波形の収集,および地殻内地震の周波数成分解析プログラムの開発を進め,気象庁一元化震源には含まれていない低周波地震を新たに同定した.これまでは火山域に限定すると考えられていた浅部低周波地震は,非火山地域や大地震の震源域でも多く発生することを明らかにした.
2016年に開始した四国西部と九州東岸でのネットワークMT長基線電場観測を継続するとともに,四国全域におけるMT法データのコンパイルを行い,沿島弧走向方向の構造の変化を探るための基礎データを構築した.また,昨年度までに得られた3次元比抵抗構造に基づいて,沈み込むスラブに沿った領域の感度検定を行い,構造の時間変化検知可能性の検証を進めた.海域電磁気観測では,2019年度までに取得したデータを用いて3次元比抵抗構造の推定を進めた.その結果,プレート境界のうち通常地震が発生している領域では高比抵抗体が分布する一方,スロー地震が起きている領域では低比抵抗体が分布している可能性が示された.
