Outline of Final Research Achievements |
A new method of gas mass estimation has been established, and it was shown that a disk of about 10 million years has sufficient material for the formation of a gas planet. Some other disks have significant dust concentrations, suggesting that planet formation proceeds more rapidly. Thus, ALMA observations have contributed to the elucidation of diverse planet formation processes. Progress was also made in the study of water and related materials in disks. Scattered light from ice dust was detected, shedding light on the nature of dust in the surface layer of the disk. In addition to obtaining the statistics of disk lifetime in clusters with the lowest metal abundances in the Galaxy, we showed that the rate of gas dissipation from disks due to photoevaporation varies with metal abundance. In the near-infrared polarized light imager to be mounted on the Seimei Telescope, we successfully operated the first domestically produced infrared image sensor used for astronomical applications.

将来の一般的な惑星形成論の確立に向け,ALMAや赤外線望遠鏡を用いた天文観測と理論研究を両輪とする学際的研究がさらに深められるような基盤を得た。国内の大型装置であるせいめい望遠鏡の強化は将来の教育・人材育成に寄与する。さらに国内製造のイメージングセンサーの新たな用途での活用は,天文学だけでなく様々な用途での波及効果が期待できる。
