Research Abstract

本年度は研究代表者が組織委員長となって平成2年8月28日から31日まで池袋サンシャイン・シィティで開催された「第1回材料科学・工学へのコンピュ-タの応用」国際会議の総決算と平成4年9月22日から25日までパシフィコ横浜で行なわれる「第2回材料・分子科学・工学へのコンピュ-タの応用」国際会議へ向けての研究の推進が主であった。このため、三重県湯の山保養所で平成3年11月25日から27日まで住込みで徹底的に発表、討論を行なった。また、平成3年12月12日、13日神奈川サイエンス・パ-クにおいて日本MRSとの共催で公開の発表、討論会を行なった。この国際学会は1994年に米国、1996年にフィンランド、1998年にイタリヤで開催することが決った。また、平成5年日本MRSと国際MRS委員会主催の先端材料の国際会議、平成5年8月31日より池袋サンシャインで国際シンポジュ-ムを行なうことが内定している。これらの国際会議のコア-をなしているものはまさに本研究グル-プである。これらの国際会議を通じて最近Modellingand Simulation in Materials Scienceという学術雑誌が英国のInstitute of PhysicsからとComputational Materials Scienceという学術雑誌が発刊されることになった。さらにこの分野の研究を重点領域研究に発展させようという動きがある。
