Research Abstract	天体現象においては、自己重力が本質的に係わる場合が多く、このため現象は非線形・非平衡でありかつ非一様となる場合が多々あり問題の解析を複雑にしている。従ってこれらの現象の解析には、超高速計算機を用いたシミュレ-ションが有効な手段となり得る。特に最近のス-パ-コンピュ-タ-の演算速度や記憶容量の飛躍的発展によって、以前は不可能であった問題が解析可能となってきている。しかし、それら超高速計算機の能力を十分生かして、かつ天体物理に本質的な重力の効果を考慮したソフトウェア-に関しては、十分な完成度に達しているとはいえず、その開発に関しても個別に行われているにすぎない。一方球状星団のような重力多体系の問題のように重力の計算部分は極めて簡単な表式であるため専用計算機を設計・製作した方が良い場合もある。そこで、個々の天体現象をシミュレ-ションによって解析し、発見法的に基本法則の求めたり、観測天文学に於いての現象論となり得る様な数値的天文学の構築のために、その基礎となる計算法や専用マシンの設計を確立する事が本申請研究の目的であった。以上の目的に沿って、今年度の活動は研究班全体の研究会開催と、研究成果の欧文報告集出版にあてられた。1990年12月に開催された研究会においては百名を越える参加があり、流体力学問題、電磁流体力学問題に対する計算手法が活発に論議された。また、重力多体問題専用機などの問題別専用マシンの作成についても種々のアイデア紹介され、議論が進んだ。さらに、この研究会集録という形で、欧文報告集を出版した。この中には、1990年度の日本における天体物理関係のシミュレ-ションを使った主な研究や専用計算機の作成に関する論文が数多く掲載されている。これらを国内はもとより海外の研究者にも広く配布して、研究紹介する事を計画している。
