| Research Abstract |
前年度に引き続いて、本年度は平成3年10月に,新潟県佐渡の縞状堆積物の見学調査会を催し、数学者・物理学者・電子工学者も含めて、広い見地から縞状構造の研究方法について討論した。その成果は、縞状構造の自動読取り装置の設計プランとなって、現在進行中である。平成3年12月には、本総合研究の成果のまとめとして,京都で研究成果発表会を開き,分担者に加えて広い分野の協力者の参加も得て,22の講演発表と実りある討論の交換があった。その中でも,地磁気変動グル-プから発表された,大気・海洋ーマントルー核系の変動の相関の研究と,気候変動・地球回転を含む数理モデルのグル-プから発表された太陽活動の変動と地球変動に見られる倍周期構造の発見は,地球の多圏相互作用の研究を大きく前進させる重要な成果と云える。又,古生物学グル-プからの,珪化木の年輪を使った古環境変動の研究はユニ-クで,今後の発展を期待できる。堆積物の縞状構造のグル-プは,湖成,海成の堆積物の縞状構造とその成因について,数多くの成果を出している。この研究会の報告書は「リズムと縞縞(II)」として発刊した。又,前年に引き続いて,本年は宇宙の縞状構造を中心とした写真とグラフを集録した「律絞図譜」を出し,自然のリズムと縞状構造を視覚的にとらえる好資料として,特に他分野の研究者との交流に役立てている。本総合研究の成果の一部は,平成4年8月に京都で開かれる国際地質学会,及び国内の総合プロジェクトとして進行している地球多圏相互作用・進化・リズム(マルチエ)計画に引き継がれる。
