Research Abstract

東京都で研究集会を行い、各研究者のこの1年間の成果の発表し、また研究方法および昨年以降の国際鉱物学連合鉱石物委員の動向、それらを踏まえての今後の研究についての討議等を行った。またEPMAメーカーの一つである日本電子(株)を訪問し、技術者と意見の交換を行った。
研究集会での発表・討諭を大別すると下記の通りである。
1)画像処理 EPMA組成像を解析するためのパーソナルコンピュータ用プログラム。
2)鉱物・鉱石の研究 透過顕微鏡とEPMAを組み合わせた閃亜鉛鉱の黄銅鉱病変の研究等。
3)EPMAを利用した流体包有物の分析法の開発。試料表面の分析法であるEPMAの新分野である。
4)耐火煉瓦と溶融金属の反応組織の研究。これは実用面だけでなく地球内部の研究にとっても重要である。
通常の鉱石の研究では問題にならない反射電子線像と特性X線像(および定量分析結果)の不一致が、鉄隕石の研究で問題になっていたが、日本電子(株)の技術者との意見の交換、および研究者の持参したサンプルのメーカーの試験装置による実験の結果、それがチャネリング効果によるものであることが明らかになった。これは結晶構造の単純の金属について、反射電子線像を強コントラストで観察したときに出現する。
わが国で一般的なNECタイプのパソコンを想定して開発されたEPMAデータ処理プログラムが、中国で注目されるようになったので、一部プログラムを中国で一般的なIBMタイプのパソコン用に改造した。
鉱山の開発に伴って鉱床の新しい部分の鉱石がサンプリング可能となるが、その一方では採掘によって鉱石は永遠に失われてしまうので、現在稼行中の菱刈、豊羽等の鉱山については分担して調査・試料採取を行った。
