| Research Abstract |
平成3年2月〜3月に海氷南限域にあたるサロマ湖において,(1)海洋,海氷,気象の物理過程,(2)アイスアルジー,水中基礎生産物の生物・物理・化学過程,(3)二次生産者,特に動物プランクトン,魚類のトロフォ・ダイナミックスを中心にした生物・エネルギー過程の研究をカナダ側研究者と共に実施した。さらに(4)アイスアルジーの寒冷適応に関する生化学研究や(5)カナダ側研究者を中心に生物起源物質の循環過程の研究等を実施した。平成4年度は引き続き4月〜5月には,場所を海氷の最も発達する海域の一つであるカナダ・リゾリュードに移して同様の観測を実施した。同一研究グループによる,同一手法を用いた,同一テーマの総合的観測を全く異なる海氷域でほぼ同時期に実施することができた。得られたデータは従来にない総合的データであり,南北海氷圏生物の寒冷適応,生物生産過程,エネルギーと物質フラックスの諸側面に関する貴重なものとなった。今後本格的解析を行う予定であるが,一次分析の結果は既に日本・カナダ・サロマ・リゾリュート海氷生物ワークショップ(1993年月紋別)において発表した。さらに同様のワークショップを1993年6月カナダ・ケベック市,1993年12月国立極地研究所極域生物シンポジウムで開催し,その結果をシンポジウムプロシーディングスやその他国際学術雑誌に投稿する予定である。なお,本研究は,日本・カナダ相補性研究に対応したものである。
