Research Abstract	熱産生器官・褐色脂肪組織の病態と生理に関して次の点が明らかにされた。1.褐色脂肪組織の中枢性調節機構:褐色脂肪組織の熱産生、脂質代謝の調節に視床下部腹内側核の活動の必要なことが確認された。寒冷あるいは暑熱にたいする予測的体温調節に褐色脂肪組織の関与が示唆された。2.褐色脂肪組織の末梢性調節機構:褐色脂肪組織の熱産生機構としてグルコ-スとグルコ-スー6ーリン酸の間のATP浪費サイクルの関与していることが酵素組織学的に示された。また褐色脂肪組織の培養実験の結果、インスリン、ノルエピネフリンが細胞の脂質代謝に与っていることが示された。褐色肪肪組織のインスリン含有量、インスリンリセプタ-の解析が行われ、寒冷馴化による褐色脂肪組織の機能亢進にインスリンリセプタ-の減少、しかし組織インスリン量が増大することが示された。低温によって平滑筋のカルシウムの収縮作用にたいする感受性が高まることから、褐色脂肪組織の機能亢進にカルシウム関与の可能性が示唆された。3.褐色脂肪組織の病態:褐色脂肪組織の機能低下が肥満をもたらすことが示され、褐色脂肪組織の熱産生を特異的に刺激するβ_3ーリセプタ-アゴニストが肥満の治療に有効であることが示された。また肥満による胃機能(胃酸分泌、胃排出能、胃粘膜抵抗性)の変化が指摘され、褐色脂肪組織の機能低下と共に肥満の発生に関与していることが示唆された。ストレス性高体温の発現に褐色脂肪組織の熱産生の寄与していることが示唆された。4.褐色脂肪組織の生態:照明の変化、高地生息が褐色脂肪組織の機能を変化させることが示された。これらの研究結果から、褐色脂肪組織の発生、機能調節の生理、生化学的機構、生態学的意義、さらに病態との関係についての多くの知見が得られ、今後の研究を推進する上での問題点が明らかにされ、また有益な示唆が与えられた。
