Research Abstract

1.本研究課題第3-7期において刊行したBeowulfとChaucerに関するKey-Word Studiesシリーズの改訂増補の作業に加え、他の重要語彙で追加すべきものの検討を行い、それらを含めさらに総合的深層的基礎研究を行った。第1回研究打合せ会(4年7月12日)の小野の研究報告「OE語彙研究の課題」はその成果の一部であり、昨秋来日のオックスフォード大学のT.F.Hoad氏との討議からも多くの成果を得た。それらの成果は平成5年度にKey-Word Studies in Beowulf,Key-Word Studies in Chaucer(仮称)としてまとめ公刊の予定。
2.上記の研究に不可欠な基礎研究資料となるBeowulf,Chaucer関連の一次、二次資料の系統的網羅的収集に努め、そのリスト作成作業も同時に進めた。原写本のカラー・スライドが必要となるものについてもその収集作業を進めた。
3.上記研究にとり不可欠となるBeowulf,Chaucerの拠るべきテクストの検討作業を進めた。第2回研究打合せ会(5年1月31日)の大泉の研究報告「Harvard Chauceu」はその成果の一部であり、安東記念論文集、野口記念論文集及び『「ピータバラ年代記」の言語』にも分担員の多くがその成果を発表している。Variorum Beowulfについては、原写本からの転写を小川、久保内など数人が分担し在外研究などの機会を利用してBLでの転写作業に当ることができた。
4.OE・ME期の諸写本テクストの校訂では、松本を中心にThe Destruc-tion of Troyについて主として行った。成果は平成5年度に公刊の予定。写本マイクロフィルムによる閲読作業は、設備備品として購入できたマイクロフイッシュ・リーダーにより順調に進めることを得た。
5.『中世英語英文学研究作績リスト』改訂増補の作業は1983年版以降分収録の補遺版を英語版で公刊すべく作業を進めた。
