Research Abstract

1992年12月11〜13日に亘って、長崎勤労福祉センターで研究討論会を開催し、上記テーマについて各研究分担者の得た成果を発表すると共に徹底討論を行った。尚この研究会には、研究分担者の他、江口鉄男(九大名誉教授)、山田安定(阪大名誉教授)、吉田豊(静岡理工大助教授)、進藤大輔(東北大助教授)氏等を招き特別講演をしていただいた。以下主な成果の概要を述べる。まず金属間化合物について小岩等は、基本的な物性の一つである弾性定数を、小さな単結晶試料による直方体共振法を用いて広い温度範囲に亘って測定できる技術を確立したことを述べた。セラミックスについては佐分利等が、電子顕微鏡のその場観察で、BaTiO_3の相変態が2次に近いにもかかわらず、核形成と成長の過程をとって進むことを明らかにした。形状記憶合金に関しては大塚等が、過去50年間未解決だったAu-Col合金のζ_2マルテンサイトの構造をX線四軸回抄計で法定すると共に、その変態機構を明らかにしたことを報告した。又掛下等は、マルテンサイト変態で、非等温的変態と等温的変態の生ずる原因を説明できる理論を提唱したが、これはマルテンサイト変態への熱力学的アプローチとして画期的な理論と思われる。今話題の準結晶については平賀が正10箇形準結晶の構造を報告した。岩崎等は揮度の高い軌道放射光と感度の高いイメージング・プレートを組合すことによより、1次相変態の動的観察が可能であることを示した。吉田は又、インビーム・メスバウア分光法という新しい測定技術は、高速拡散のような他の手法が役に立たない分野でも使えることを示し、新物質研究に役立つ可能性を示した。毛利は、「経路確率法」という第一原理計算に基づいて、相変態のキネティックスが計算できる可能性を示した。山田は、「物質の高次構造と新しい物性」と題する特別講演を行ったが、これからの物性研究を示唆する有意義なものであった。
