Research Abstract	本研究班は文部省国際学術研究がん特別調査関係の研究を効果的に、且つ円滑に実施するために、以下の研究及び活動を行った。 1)計画研究課題の企画と選定:「計画研究」は特に重要で、成果が期待できる骨格的な研究課題とし、総括班が企画選定した。計画研究は平成8年度は28課題の内11課題(総括班を含む)となり、平成9年度の計画研究としては新規課題3件を含めて11課題を推薦した。 2)予備調査の企画、選定、実施:本研究班においては計画研究の企画、選定に先立ち、相手国の受け入れ体制、研究の実施可能性、期待される成果、基礎的情報の収集のために必要に応じて予備調査を実施した。平成8年度には下記の3件の予備調査を実施した。;(1)インドネシアにおける日光紫外線と皮膚がんの関係(2年目)、(2)アジア地域におけるEBウイルス感染と胃がんの関係についての疫学的研究、(3)地中海沿岸諸国の食生活(特に、脂肪摂取)とがんの関係に関する疫学的研究。 3)班長会議の開催:平成9年3月17日に名古屋において班長会議を開催し、研究実施上の問題点の討議、情報交換などを行った。昨年度は研究者が外国で事故にあったり、病気のために研究の遂行に支障があったが、本年度は特に重大な問題は発生せず、円滑に研究が行われた。 4)研究報告会の開催:平成9年3月17日に愛知県がんセンター国際医学交流センターにおいて第12回研究報告会を開催し、7人の研究者が主要研究成果を発表し、討議を行った。 5)がん特別調査ニュースレターの発刊:がん特別調査の各研究班及びその他の関連研究グループとの情報交換を密にするために、がん特別調査ニュースレターを3号(No.18-20)発刊した。
