Research Abstract	本総括班は第1班「変態・休眠を支配するホルモン分子の動態と環境応答」並びに第2班「変態における自己・非自己の認識転換と形作りの分子機構」に関する研究の独自性を保ちつつ,しかも協力・共同を促すことを主目的にした研究活動を進めた.このために公募研究者を含めた研究実施計画並びに研究成果検討会を3回開催した.ここでは総括班員による研究企画,調整,評価を個別研究課題に対して行うのみならず,計画班全体についても実施し,本研究領域の研究の活性化を促した. 本研究班のめざす昆虫研究を推進するためには,一般生命科学研究に援用される研究器具や試薬に加え固有の資材や器機を必要とする.とりわけ代表的な昆虫ホルモンである幼若ホルモンは多くの研究に必要であるが,市販品として入手できない,そこで本総括班で高純度の標品を科学的に合成した.本品を研究の進展状況に合わせて供与することにした.また本研究班が発見したペプチドホルモンを発現ベクター系等を用いて多重に合成し,班員の研究に提供した.さらにホルモン受容体に対する特異的な抗体もまとめて作成しつつある.このように本領域の研究の推進のための研究基盤の整備充実をはかった.さらに今後の研究推進の指針とするために総括班員の得意とする研究分野を中心とした討論会を開き,各研究員の課題意識と視野の拡大に努めた.
