| Research Abstract |
本研究は、Sediment-Water Interface(SWI)の時空間における動態を、地質学・生物学・化学の視点から明らかにすることを目的にしている。研究は、相模湾中央部に設けた定点(35.0'N,139.22.5'E、水深1450m)における経年観測を通じて、SWIの時空間変動を観測・測定している。本年度は、平成9年3,4,5,6,8,10,11,12月および平成10年2月に計11回、海洋観測を行った。結果は次の通りである。1)海洋観測衛星(ADEOS)を用いて1997年前半の表層一次生産の地理的分布を把握した。1997年中に、ブルームは2月末から4月にかけて起こった。2)海洋表層部の自然蛍光を測定して一次生産量を推定した。また、採水してクロロフィル量を定量した。3)平成9年3月から定点に時系列セジメントトラップを係留して、海洋表層から海底に向かう粒子束の季節変化を連続測定した。トラップは海底から300mに設置した。トラップの試料は、各分画毎に全量・無期粒子・有機物を定量した。また、初島沖に設置してある、海洋科学技術センターの海底ステーションのビデオ映像を観察し、海底の濁りを把握した。4)マルチプルコアラーを用いて、表層が未撹乱な堆積物試料を10回採集した。採泥のために、小型船舶で使用可能な小型張力計を特注した。堆積物は表層より0.5cm毎に切り分け、無機成分・有機成分をそれぞれ分析し、Sediment-Water Interface(SWI)の化学的な動態を推定した。とくに表層の色素を詳細に解析し、種類を特定した。生物試料はメイオベントスを堆積物試料から分離・同定し、群集構造を解析した。メイオベントスの分類・同定のために、3D顕微鏡を購入した。メイオベントスは4〜6月にかけて増加した。このように、深海底の諸現象は海洋表層の現象とリンクしていることが明らかである。しかし、沈降有機物を時間を追って追跡すると、海底直上のnepheloid層付近に時間的なラグが現れた。今後の問題である。
