Research Abstract	本研究では日本人悪性リンパ腫の特性の解明と、分子レベルでの悪性リンパ腫発症機序の解明、及びそれらに依拠した悪性リンパ腫分類画定を課題とした研究を、11名の班員が分担して行っている。日本人に特徴的なリンパ腫に関しては、青笹らが我が国に特徴的にみられる膿胸由来リンパ腫について、発症機序の解明を目的として細胞株を樹立した。現在さらにその細胞学的性状の検索を進めている。森は、我が国の免疫不全患者に、8型ヘルペスウイルスの関係した新たな腫瘤形成性のリンパ腫を同定した。現在この新しい型のリンパ腫の性格の同定をはかっている。さらに東アジアに特徴的に多く発生するEpstein-Barrウイルスと関連したリンパ腫について、その特性、新しい病型の提示等を数名の班員がおこなった。分子機序については、三木らによって瀰漫性大細胞型Bリンパ腫との関連のある分子として同定されたbcl6遺伝子の生物学的機能と発現の検索、また塩田・森らが同定したリンパ腫発生の原因となるキメラ蛋白質p80の生物学的機能についての研究が進展を示している。具体的成果として、bcl6については、それがリンパ腫のみならずヒト顆粒球や単球、あるいは扁平上皮細胞においても、その分化と関わりをもつ転写制御因子である可能性がつよいこと、p80については、それが性状細胞の細胞内での増殖関連シグナル伝達に刺激をあたえることで関与していることなどを今回あきらかにした。
