Research Abstract	本研究班の研究目的は、文部省国際学術研究がん特別調査関連のすべての研究課題を効果的かつ円滑に実施することであり、そのために以下の研究及び活動を行なった。 1)計画研究課題の企画と選定:「計画研究」は、成果が期待できる骨格的な研究課題とし総括班が企画選定した。計画研究は平成9年度は26課題内の12課題(総括班を含む)となり、平成10年度の計画研究として、10課題を推薦した。 2)予備調査の企画、選定、実施:本研究班においては計画研究の企画、選定に先立ち、相手国の受入体制、研究の実施可能性、期待される成果、基礎的情報の収集の為に必要に応じて予備調査を実施した。平成9年度には下記の4件の予備調査を実施した:(1)台湾における肝内結石症と肝内胆管癌の相関に関する疫学的共同研究、(2)スリランカにおける口腔がんの化学予防に関する研究、(3)中国および韓国におけるウェルナ-症候群の実体調査、(4)インドにおける大腸がんの成因解明に関する疫学的研究。 3)班長会議の開催:平成10年2月27日に名古屋において班長会議を開催し、研究実施場の問題点の討議情報交換などを行った。 4)研究報告会の実施:平成10年2月27日に名古屋大学医学部鶴友会館において第13回研究報告会を開催した。今年度はテーマを「HTLV:国際比較研究の最新知見-研究の歴史と知見のまとめ-」とし、5人の研究者が主要研究成果を発表し、極めて活発な討議が行われた。 5)がん特別調査ニュースレターの発刊:がん特別調査の各研究班及びその他の関連研究グループとの情報交換を蜜にするために、がん特別調査ニュースレターを3号(NO.21-23)発刊した。
