Research Abstract	本研究班の研究目的は、文部省国際学術研究がん特別調査関連のすべての研究課題を効果的かつ円滑に実施することであり、そのために以下の研究及び活動を行なった。 1) 計画研究課題の企画と選定:「計画研究」は、成果が期待できる骨格的な研究課題敏総括班が企画選定した。計画研究は平成10年度は25課題内の12課題(総括班を含む)となり、平成11年度の計画研究として5課題を推薦した。 2) 予備調査の企画、選定、実施:本研究班においては計画研究の企画、選定に先立ち、相手国の受入体制、研究の実施可能性、期待される成果、基礎的情報の収集の為に必要に応じて予備調査を実施した。平成10年度には下記の5件の予備調査を実施した:(1)台湾における肝内結石症と肝内胆管癌の相関に関する疫学的共同研究、(2)スリランカにおける口腔癌の化学予防プロジェクト、(3)中国、韓国におけるWemer症候群の実態調査、(4)インドにおける大腸がんの宿主・環境要因の研究、(5)血清エストロゲン値とマンモグラフィー濃度の関係に関する日米比較研究の可能性についての調査。 3) 班長会議の開催:平成11年2月26日に名古屋において班長会議を開催し、研究実施上の問題点の討議、情報交換などを行なった。 4) 研究報告会の実施:平成11年2月26日に毎日ビル・国際サロン(名古屋)において第14回研究報告会を開催した。今年度は、胃・食道がんおよび遺伝子関連のテーマで6人の研究者が主要研究成果を発表し、極めて活発な討議が行なわれた。 5) がん特別調査ニュースレターの発刊:がん特別調査の各研究班及びその他の関連研究グループとの情報交換を密にするために、がん特別調査ニュースレターを3号(No.24-26)を発刊した。
