1 総括班
(1) 総括班会議の年2回の開催
(2) 総括班事務局においてニュースレターの発行、ホームページによる情報公開と情報交換
(3) 計画進捗状況報告書(1)(2)(3)(4)(5)の刊行
(4) 計画の見直しおよび平成11-12年度の長期臨時観測計画の策定
(5) 前年度のOHP(Ocean Hemisphere Network)International Symposiumに関連して国際雑誌「EPS(Earth,Planets and Space)」から特集号を刊行
2 海洋島観測班(1班)
(1) パラパット(インドネシア)観測点の改修:ポセイドン初期の観測点であったが、これを標準型のシステムに改修した。同時にGPS測位の連続観測を開始した。
(2) ポンペイ(ミクロネシア)観測点の改修:標準型の観測システムに交換し、GPSによる測位の連続観測を始めた。
(3) パラオ観測点の改修:広帯域地震計の標準システムへの交換を行った。
(4) カメンスコエ(ロシア)観測点の保守・GPS観測を継続して行った。
(5) 海洋島(地震、GPS)観測点の保守点検を実施した。
(6) フィリピン、インドネシアでGPS繰り返し観測を実施した
(7)父島観測点の改修:広帯域地震観測システムを標準型に改修した。
3 海洋底観測班(2班)
(1) 海底孔内用実機(広帯域地震計・超感度体積歪計)を製作
(2) 海底孔内用実機による陸上孔内地震・歪観測を開始した。
(3) 海底広帯域地震・電磁気観測をより長期(1.5ヶ月を2回)に展開した(用船)。
(4) 海底測地用観測システム試験(海底音響測距・海底重力測定・海底圧力測定・海中音響リンク)を実施した(淡青丸)。
4 システム開発班(3班)
(1) 海底8成分電磁気観測システムによる40日間の海底観測を実施した。
(2) 海洋島観測では、ワンカヨ、クリスマス島、ポンペイの観測装置について、プロトン磁力計の交換と保守を行った。
(3) さらに、中国、南鳥島等について、観測地点選定の予備調査を行った。
(4) 海底ケーブルによる電場変動観測は継続して実施。
(5) オーストラリア、インドネシアの超伝導重力計については、コールドヘッド交換等の保守を行い、観測は継続中である。
(6) 北極圏スバルバール地域について超伝導設置地点を確定するための予備調査を行い、設置地点を決定した。
(7) 高性能海底地震計をさらに製作した。11年度に海底観測の予定。
(8) 超音波による海底地殻変動観測装置を製作し、試験的な観測を行った。
(9) 海洋島電磁気観測については、上に述べた地点以外の観測点について、観測を継続している。
5 データ処理解析班(4班)
(1) 海半球海洋島地震観測網データセンターからのデータおよびソフトの公開を始めた。また一般ユーザーの他機関データへのアクセス機能を開発した。
(2) 西太平洋GPS観測網データと国土地理院GPSデータとの併合により、西太平洋地域のプレート運動の実態を明らかにした。
(3) 電磁気データベースの作成、利用の基本的手順、規則を作成した。また海底ケーブル利用の電位差測定からコアのトロイダル磁場の見積りを試みた。
(4) 海底地震計アレーによりこれまで未知の海底地殻現象を発見した。
(5) 常時自由振動研究をさらに進め、常時自由振動に日変化現象のあることを明らかにした。
