Research Abstract	平成11年は平成10年度までに研究開発したマルチメディア情報媒介機構の基本機能を発展させて情報媒介機構の一応の枠組みを実現し、評価を行った。以下にその概略を示す(別添11年度詳細報告書を併せて御参照いただきたい)。 1.総括班では (1)10年度までの個別媒介機能を一層拡大するとともに枠組みの一応の骨格を示した。更に、コンテンツ(ディジタル放送、WWWコンテンツ、人文・社会系を含む学術マルチメディア、映像による実世界型コンテンツ)の一層の充実と、運用評価実験の結果に基づく統合情報媒介システムの改良と統合システム構成の実現、中間評価に向けての研究成果取りまとめとプレゼンテーションシステムの実現を行った。更に、外部中間評価を兼ねた国際シンポジウムの実施し、320名の出席者と高い評価を得た。 2.ストリーム型システム研究班では、統合ストリーム型媒介システムの枠組みの基本構成の提示、映像メディア情報ベースの大規模化アーキテクチャの開発、データ創成機能の高度化等を実施し、ストリーム型統合情報媒介システムプロトタイプの実装をした。 3.ネットワーク型システム研究班では、平成10年度に開発したWWW上の画像情報に対するデータリトリーブ方式、データ収集方式について2つの特徴のある方式を改良し、評価を行った。又、高度サーチエンジンとして、超並列アーキテクチャをベースにしたデータマイニング機能を実現し、基本機能を評価した。 4.実世界システム研究班では、実世界での発生事象の認識・把握機能として実交通映像からのイベント抽出システムの開発、実世界での光学環境復元を含むモデル化方式の改良、市街地映像からの対象認識方式ならびにその結果をデータベース化する媒介空間形成方式の改良を行った。
