| Research Abstract |
1.海外での調査活動:研究協力者をも加えた計16名の参加者が1ないし2回の現地調査をおこない、資料提供者からの聞き取りにより言語資料を蒐集し、これまで各自が持っていた言語資料の不足部分を補完するとともに、新たな側面にかんする記述をおこなった。現地調査によりえられた資料は各自が帰国後分析をすすめ、文法記述を進展させた。
2.研究会議の開催:11月に和歌山に参加者が集まり、3年間の研究の成果を検討するとともに、成果公刊の予定について話し合った。
3.研究成果の公刊:本研究3年間の最終年度にあたり、これまで数年にわたり出版を続けてきた『環北太平洋の言語(Languages of the North Pacific Rim)』の第5巻を、研究代表者宮岡がとりまとめ、2000年7月に出版、さらに第6巻(宮岡と研究分担者遠藤が編集を担当)を2001年3月に出版予定である。これら各巻には研究協力者をも含む参加者のうちの数名が論文を執筆している。この他にも、本研究の成果はさまざまな論文集等において公にされている。
