Research Abstract	前年度に引き続き、マレーシアを中心に、周辺地域のフィリピン、タイ、ベトナム、サハリンなど、東アジア、東南アジアの植物相及び昆虫相の調査を行った。加藤(雅)は主としてシダ植物、堀田は単子葉植物、西田および永益が被子植物を担当して標本の採集および同定を行った。ランビルでは8ヘクタールの500種の樹木のインベントリーがほぼ終了した。昆虫相の調査では、矢田がチョウ類、駒井が蛾類、友国が半翅類について、標本のチェックを行った。鱗翅類ではサラワク産のソーテイングが終了し、周辺地域との比較を開始した。アリ相は山根が「南西諸島産有剣ハチ・アリ類探索図説」を出版し、東アジアと東南アジアの属レベルの検索図鑑を英語と各国の言語で準備中である。タイ中部では鳥と哺乳類のインベントリーが終了し、サイチョウや他の果実食動物の食べる果実のインベントリーの完成が近い状態である。
