Research Abstract

1. データ解析
(1)欧州連合原子核研究所(CERN)の超陽子シンクロトロンで採取されたデータの解析
・ WA102実験 pp-〉pfXOps中心生成反応での中性中間子XOの研究
XOがpi+pi-piO,phiphi,K^*K^*,baryon antibaryon等のチャンネルが調べられ・論文にまとめられ
た。又、XOが擬ズカラーの状態が調べられ、f1(1285)及びfl(1420)の擬ベクトル状態の分岐
比が求められ論文に公表された。
NA12/2実験のデータ解析が行われた。これもpp中心衝突反応である。
piOpiO、etaeta、etapiO状態が解析された。
(2)ロシア連邦高エネルギー物理学研究所(IHEP)の陽子シンクロトロンを用いた実験データ解析
pi-pi->XO n荷電交換反応でのXOが調べられた。etapiO、piOpiOなどのチャンネルが解析されノボジルビルスクでのワークショップ(1999年3月)などで発表された。
(3)高エネルギー加速器機構(KEK)の陽子シンクロトロンによるデータ解析
pi-p->X-n及びX-p反応でのXO及びX-が研究対象。piOpiOチャンネルなどが解析された。
(4)これらの解析によって、piOpiOチャンネルで、500-700MeV近傍に発見した新粒子シグマの存
在が明かとなった。これは我々GAMSグループと日大の石田晋氏らのグループとの共同作業
で指摘してきたことが認められたものである。 又、KEKグループがetapi-チャンネルで
発見したqqbarでない1-+状態も、他の2つの実験グループが確認した。
2. 検出器及びエレクトロニクスの開発・プロトタイプ制作及びビーム実験
(1) CERNにおける次期・次世代の高強度実験(COMPASS-NA58)などで不可欠な新電磁
シャワーカロリメータの開発・プロトタイプ制作がなされた。鉛ガラスに替わるものとし
てタングステン酸鉛(PWO)にほぼ決まり、その実用的応用のための実験がなされた。CERN
IHEP.KEKでビームを使った実験が行われた。 CERNでなされたものが論文として公表
され、IHEPでのものも公表される予定であり、KEKなされたものはデータ整理中である。
これらの成果はKEKの次期計画JHFにも即、生かされる。
(2) 上記カロリメータのフロントエンド電子回路用の、高性能のフルカスタムICチップの開発
がなされ、今年度は更に高性能(変換タイムが1マイクロ秒を切るもの)のフルカスタムIC
チップの試作がなされた。又高速のデータ処理系の検討も行われた。
3. IHEPの研究者の来所により、データ解析及び検出器(特に電磁シャワーカロリメータ)の開発
が行われた。又KEKとIHEPの研究グループ(GAMS)としての次の計画をどう発展させるかと
いう検討がなされた。
