Research Abstract

1) ミリ波・サブミリ波イメージングアレイの開発:
i) イメージングアレイを短ミリ波帯で動作させるため,モノリシック(MMIC)検出器の設計を日米共同で行い,研究協力者の一人が所属するテラテック研究所にて製作した。また,製作された検出器のヘテロダイン特性を90-100GHz帯で実施し,ハイブリッド検出器と比較して10GHzと約1桁の広帯域特性を有することを確かめた。
ii) 準光学伝送系を組み合わせた二次元イメージングアレイ装置を筑波大学ガンマ10に適用し,密度・温度の三次元分布測定に成功した。また,オランダ,米国が主体となり,同様なシステムをFOM研究所RTPトカマクにも設置し,電子温度に見られる鋸歯状波不安定性および微視的不安定性の測定に成功した。
iii) 核融合科学研究所LHDへのミリ波イメージングアレイ設置と光学および架台設計について検討した。
2) 短パルス/超短パルス反射計の改良・開発;
i) 日米共同で超短パルス反射計を製作し,ガンマ10に設置するとともに,米国から研究者が再度来日し実験を行った。その際正常波および異常波モード伝搬を併用することにより,エッジからコア部プラズマの密度分布測定に成功した。また,密度/密度揺動の同時測定の可能性を実証した。オランダのグループは短パルス反射計のTFXTORトカマクへの適用を進めるとともに,核融合科学研究所CHSでの実験結果の討論にも参加した。
ii) 波動方程式解析コードや粒子シミュレーションコードを用いた,超短パルス反射法の計算機シミュレーションを日米双方で実施し比較検討を行った。密度分布再構成時の解析手法について研究協力を行った。
3) 内部磁場揺動測定のためのモード変換散乱法の確立:
i) 本測定法を用いたガンマ10での実験結果の討論とTEXTORへの適用に関して日本・オランダが協力した。
4) 1998年11月,国外研究者3名を含む本研究グループのほぼ全員と我が国の代表的グループのメンバーが集まり,研究集会および作業会を行うことができた。上記成果の一部はその時実現したものである。
