Research Abstract	本年度は(1)「ワークショップ2000-細胞の生と死」(H12.7.26-27,仙台)を企画し、海外からの研究者も招へいし討論を行なった。また、(2)研究発表会(H12.11.13-14,熱海)を開催して各研究分担者間の情報交換を行なった。ワークショップ及び研究発表会の前後に総括班会議、全体会議(各2回)を設け、研究組織全体の運営方法について討議した。各研究項目A:「単一細胞機能評価の新手法」、B:「単一細胞バイアビリティイメージング」、C:「環境シグナル応答細胞の創製」は各々概ね計画通り目標が達成していると判断した。また、連携研究の促進を図る努力を各分担者に要請し、その結果、次のような連携が構築されつつある。すなわち (1)A班はストレスシグナルの強度を精密に制御する技術と、対応する細胞応答のリアルタイム測定技術の開発を目指す。この細胞応答測定に際して、蛍光イメージング先端技術でB班と連携。また、「細胞種-ストレス種類-細胞応答」の組合せで、より利用しやすい新規細胞の開発に関してC班と連携。 (2)B班はバイアビリティの指標を検索し、そのイメージング技術を極める。ストレス応答やアポトーシス関連に関連した新規遺伝子に基づくバイアビリティ指標を考える上でC班と連携。これらに基て、次年度以降もさらに研究の発展性と緊密性を増すために次のような改善点を提言した。 (1)単一細胞研究促進のためには、細胞集団から当該の細胞のみを選定し、掴み、移動し、所定の位置に置く、一連の操作の効率化が不可欠なため細胞マニピュレーションに関する研究課題の導入する。 (2)細胞内シグナリングの交差解析を行うためには共通の細胞、共通のストレスシグナル、そして密接に関連した異なる遺伝子、の組合せについての解析が重要なので連携による関連遺伝子解析する。 (3)新規遺伝子に関してもプロモーター解析までは独自に進める。
