Research Abstract	本研究課題は、南北両極域の広範囲を高時間分解能で観測している国際SuperDARNレーダー網の特徴・利点を最大限に生かし、両半球の極域電磁圏で生起している電磁現象のマクロ的・ミクロ的特性を明確にし、太陽風と地球磁気圏との相互作用の物理的プロセスを総合的に解き明かすことを最終目的としている。今年度に得られた具体的な研究成果として、1)昼側の地磁気共役点領域を観測するHFレーダーと光学オーロラの同時観測により、太陽風-磁気圏リコネクションに伴う渦巻き状オーロラ現象を発見した。2)CUTLASSレーダーとEISCATレーダーで同時に得られたカスプ近傍のF層プラズマデータを解析し、ポーラーパッチの生成過程を明らかにした。また、昭和基地レーダーの長期間データを統計解析し、近距離レーダーエコーの特性を明らかにした。3)SuperDARNとGEOTAIL衛星の特別共同観測期間のデータを用い、Pc5帯時期脈動の伝播機構を主に研究した。4)SuperDARNによって観測されるプラズマトラフおよびカスプ領域に出現する電離層F層沿磁力線不規則構造出現の統計的性質を詳細に解析し、日照や太陽風パラメーター等との関係を明らかにした。5)レーダーによるプラズマ対流から、沿磁力線電流の空間・時間構造特性を求めた。磁気圏システムにおける運動量・エネルギー輸送の実体を把握しつつある。6)電離圏カスプの惑星間磁場急峻南転に対するの応答の研究として、惑星間磁場が理想的に北向きから南向きに変化している事象を選び詳細解析を行った。その結果、磁束輸送事象(Flux Transfer Event)の電離圏投影について、その詳細な現象論を明らかにすることができた。
