Research Abstract

平成12年度における主な成果は、以下のようである。
1.全国大学演習林の約40観測流域において、酸性降下物状況や林内雨・樹幹流・土壌水・地下水・渓流水などのモニタリングを継続し、共通した基礎的データの蓄積をすすめた。これらのデータ蓄積により、流域の水分動体や物質動体・渓流水質の形成機構などを定量的に解析するための情報が拡大された。
2.モニタリング観測に合わせて、土壌の酸性化が落葉の分解速度や土壌微生物のバイオマス量にあたえる影響の研究や、土壌通過水の深さ別水質変化と季節的変動に関する研究、森林土壌がもつ窒素無機化能や生物化学的性質に関する研究、渓流におけるリター流出に関する研究などもおこない、研究内容の拡大をはかった。
3.採集サンプルを特定大学演習林に送付して集中的に分析をおこなうシステムを強化するなど、施設の不充分さを補うための対応を強化した。また、特定大学演習林に複数大学の研究者が参加しておこなう「共同観測」を拡大し、スタッフ不足やフィールド条件の不充分さを補うための体制づくりをすすめた。
4.本研究組織内に窒素動体を中心とした3プロジェクト研究を新設し、長期モニタリングをベースにした多様な研究の立ち上げるための、体制づくりをおこなった。また、「森林域酸性降下物動体研究会」を発足させ、大学演習林以外の研究者の参加条件を拡大し、共同研究体制の充実をはかった。
5.流域情報の平成13年度公開に向けて、インターネット公開の枠組みを完成させ、データの入力テストを開始した。また、公開するデータベースについても、検索機能の強化や、インターネット経由によるデータ更新を可能にするなどの改良をおこなった。
