| Research Abstract |
骨髄内(Intra-bone marroow : IBM)に骨髄細胞を,直接移植する新しい骨髄移植方法(lBM-BMT)を開発(Blood 97:3292-3299,2001)し、この方法の有効性と発展性を次のような実験でさらに確認した。
i)骨粗嶺症のモデルマウスSAMP6を用いて、若齢の正常マウスの骨髄をIBM-BMTすることより骨粗鬆症が予防できることを発見した(Blood submitted)。その理由として、recipientのosteroblastsが、donor由来のosteoblastsに置換されていることによることが明らかになった。
ii)ラットの系で、IBM-BMTを併用することにより、アロのラットの下肢の移植に成功した(Blood submitted)。
iii)強皮症のモデルマウス(TsKマウス)を用いて、IBM-BMTにより強皮症のみならず、肺気腫が治療できることを発見した(Nature Medicine submitted)。
以上、lBM-BMTは、造血幹細胞のみならず、間葉系幹細胞を効率良く骨髄内へ移植が可能で、再生医療の分野にも強力な武器となり得る。
