Research Abstract

平成13年度の研究は、次の3項目の対象に対して行われたので、それぞれについて述べる。
1.初期宇宙:宇宙初期の時空構造としての多次元世界(ブレーンワールド)に埋められた4次元時空の研究が盛んに行われ,フリードマン宇宙の再現、ニュートン力からのずれの問題など、多くの成果が得られた。また、ストリング理論、超重力理論にもとずくインフレーション宇宙のモデルや密度揺らぎの生成についても研究された。さらに、これらの時空の特異点(裸の特異点も含む)の研究も多くなされた。
2.重力波、ブラックホール:中性子星、ブラックホール等のコンパクト星のバイナリ(二重星)の運動の一般相対論的取り扱い、および、重力波放出の研究が精力的に行われた。また、ブラックホール周辺の電磁現象、ブラックホールとスカラー場との相互作用などの研究がなされた。とくに、銀河中心に見つかった中質量のブラックホールの観測的、理論的研究が注目された。ガンマ線バーストの発生機構も調べられた。
3.非一様性、大規模構造と重力レンズ現象:Ia型超新星の加速現象の観測データを再現する宇宙モデルとして、宇宙定数または、未知の物質(クインテッセンス)を含むものが考えられ、その物質の状態方程式の研究が行われた。また、ボイド(低密度)領域が宇宙定数の働きをする宇宙モデルも研究された。重力レンズ現象に関しては、弱レンズ効果による大規模構造の研究が注目された。また、銀河形成における再加熱と光電離効果がもたらす影響について、および、非線型バイアスの大規模構造における意義についても研究された。
以上の研究成果の多くは、平成14年4月に京都大学にて開催した「宇宙論と、重力理論の最前線」研究会および平成14年1月に早稲田大学にて開催した「一般相対論および重力」研究会において発表され、議論された。
