Research Abstract

Non-myeloablative allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for refractory colon cancer was performed. The patient was a 45-year-old female with metastatic colon cancer. Metastatic sites were located in the liver, lymph nodes, and intra-peritoneal cavity (peritoneal dissemination). The donor was her HLA full-matched elder brother. After non-myeloablative and immunosuppressive chemotherapy with cyclophosphamide and fludarabine, allogeneic peripheral blood stem cell transplantation was performed (mini-transplantation). Although graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) was recognized 35 days after transplantation, tumor shrinkage didn't occur and she died of cancer 64 days after transplantation.
