Research Abstract	研究2年度に当たる平成15年度は、夏に"North Biwa Seminar on Capital punishment in China"と題した国際共同セミナーをおこなった。具体的には、8月20日から23日にかけての3日間、琵琶湖北の国民宿舎「つづらお荘」にて、本科研の海外共同研究者4名、日本側の研究分担者3名、および代表者の計8人が集まって、「東アジアにおける法と習慣」という本科学研究に関して、各自が一年間行なってきた研究の成果を報告し討論をおこなった。内容は、以下の通り。 (1)Oliver Moore "Capital punishment in East Asian History - A proposal to look at visualization of punishment in China" (2)Iwai Shigeki "Political execution of death penalty in the Jia JIn 嘉靖 reign of Ming - The case of Yang Ji Sheng 楊継盛" (3)Staffan Rosen "Capital Punishment in Early Korea - A research proposal" (4)Ryuichi Kogachi" 誅(Comdemnation to Death) - During the turbulent times in the late Westren Jin" (5)Itaru Tomiya "Death penalty - The Ancient and Middle Ages of China" (6)Bengt Petteson "Examples of cannibalism from the dynastic histories" (7)Tuyoshi Yagi "A death by the Royal Grace - An analysis on dissciplinary action in the iterati purges of the Joseon Dynasty" (8)Hakan Wahlquist "Custom an slaw in East Asia with special emphasis on captal punishment" 以上、8本の発表と2、3の不参者が提出した要旨は、2004年度に冊子とする。セミナーでは、次年度の研究活動と2005年度に成果報告論文をまとめ出版することを決めた。
