Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究の目的は、すばる望遠鏡における地球型惑星探査を行うための観測装置を整備し、それを用いた観測とそのための対象選定などの事前観測を行うことにある。今年度は、近赤外ドップラー装置IRDに関して、ハワイ大学における試験の後、山頂でのコムありおよびコムなしの試験観測、および天体光を用いた速度決定精度試験を行った。その結果、分光器および光周波数コム装置の性能がほぼ想定された仕様を満たしていることを確認した。観測装置はすばる望遠鏡の共同利用装置として提供を開始されている。具体的には以下のことを行った。山頂のクーデ室に設置後の分光器の波長カバレージ、波長分解能が仕様通り（それぞれ、0.97-1.7ミクロン、約70000）であることを測定により確認した。検出器として導入したHAWAII2-RG二個の性能評価を山頂において進めた。読み出しノイズは山麓実験時と同じく10e、暗電流が0.01e/s未満であった。コムを用いた分光器速度決定精度はほぼ1m/sであった。これと並行して、サーベイのサンプル星の候補に対してWIYN、岡山などの中小望遠鏡なども用いて事前観測を行なった。これらに基づいて、恒星表面の光度変化等による視線速度ジッターの影響を考慮し、より実現可能な観測計画を検討した。0.1-0.3太陽質量でM4-M7の後期M型星70天体をサーベイし、ハビタブルゾーンにある地球型惑星（スーパーアースから1地球質量惑星まで）の検出と低質量星まわりの軽い惑星の形成理論に制限を与えることの両方が出来る観測を新規戦略枠観測として提案した。また、関連する系外惑星および若い星の誕生現場の観測も進めた。

Reason

分光器も光周波数コムも装置として完成し、いずれのコンポーネントもすばる望遠鏡における試験観測を行い、ほぼ期待された性能を満たしていたこと。また、必要な事前観測はほぼ完了したこと。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

すばる望遠鏡においてIRD赤外線視線速度サーベイを行うための試験観測を継続する。並行して共同利用観測を遂行し、今後の長期サーベイのための初期データを取得する。また、太陽近傍後期M型星の赤外線ドップラー法による地球型惑星という科学的目的のための望遠鏡時間を戦略枠として確保する。視線速度測定用解析ソフトウェアのさらなる改良なども進める。
