Outline of Annual Research Achievements

メーカーと共同で1300画素×1300画素を持つインジウム・ガリウム・ヒ素（InGaAs）近赤外線センサーの最終版の開発を進めた。試作品のノイズ当の試験結果を反映させて回路や構造設計を改良して、低ノイズでキャリブレーションがしやすく、またアレイの一部のみ読み出すウィンドウモードを実装するなど、天文観測でより使いやすい最終設計とすることができた。2020年3月に最終版のセンサーが納品され、国立天文台における試験により、期待通りの低ノイズで一様な画像が得られることが確認できた。また、この開発と並行して、より長波長の光まで受光するよう改良したInGaAsチップの天文観測への応用を目指した開発の検討も始まった。今後の進展に期待が掛かる。
ウェッジド・ダブル・ウォラストンプリズムを装着した可視近赤外同時カメラHONIRを用いて、ガンマ線バーストの可視近赤外線同時偏光観測を行った。しかしながら、明るい残光の観測に恵まれず、新たなサンプルは得られなかった。過去にかなた望遠鏡で観測された偏光観測サンプルを取りまとめ、磁場を介した発光機構の解析を進めた。また、ガンマ線バーストの発生機構と関連がある活動銀河核ブレーザーの可視近赤外線同時偏光モニターを継続し、ブレーザージェットの偏光の波長依存性、時間変動、光度・色変化との相関などを調べた。こうしたブレーザー研究や超新星研究がいくつかの論文に結実した。
本研究の一環として、すばる望遠鏡20周年科学シンポジウムを共催した。
