Outline of Annual Research Achievements

パワーレーザーを用いて宇宙物理学の要素物理を明らかにする、レーザー宇宙物理学の確立を目指して実験を行った。特に宇宙線加速に着目し、無衝突衝撃波生成、磁気リコネクション、およびイオン加速実験を行った。
無衝突ワイベル衝撃波生成実験(NIF-米国)では、CH/CH平行平板型ターゲットを用いて、対向プラズマ中でワイベル不安定性とそれによる無衝突衝撃波を生成し、生成された衝撃波のプラズマパラメータを協同トムソン散乱計測によって計測した。
強磁場衝撃波(激光XII号)では、数Torrの窒素雰囲気ガスを真空容器に封入し、最大1.6 Tの外部磁場下でAl薄膜にレーザーを照射した。プラズマからの輻射によって電離され、外部磁場で磁化された窒素プラズマ中の磁場に垂直方向に伝搬する無衝突衝撃波生成を行った。協同トムソン散乱では、これまでのイオン項計測に加えて電子項計測を行い、衝撃波上流の電子・イオン温度、電子密度、自発光計測により衝撃波速度の詳細な計測を行った。
磁気リコネクション実験(激光XII号)では、インダクションコイルを用いて上下に配置したAlターゲット周辺に約0.1テスラの反平行及び平行な磁場配位を生成し、協同トムソン散乱と可視自発光の時間発展計測を行った。レーザーのターゲット照射によって約1Tの自己生成磁場が生成された。反平行外部磁場配位時に自己生成磁場が増幅され、リコネクションに起因するプラズマアウトフーロが観測された。
高強度レーザー J-KAREN-P(量研)を用いた無衝突静電衝撃波イオン加速実験を行った。レーザーのプレパルス強度とCH薄膜ターゲットの厚さを制御することによって最適な密度・スケール長を持つプラズマを生成し、そこにメインパルスが入射することによって、無衝突静電衝撃波が生成された。衝撃波上流のプロトンが衝撃波ポテンシャルで反射され、準単色のプロトン加速に成功した。
