| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
インドネシア、カリマンタン島の中央カリマンタン州およびスマトラ島のリアウ州において、天然林・排水林・焼け跡など人為的な環境改変の程度の異なる熱帯泥炭地の調査を行った。
カリマンタン島では、特に植物根を排除した根切り区に設置した、泥炭分解測定用チャンバーを用いて、泥炭泥炭分解を測定し、3つの異なる条件における泥炭分解の季節変動を観測した。環境要因の中で特に地下水位と土壌の物理化学特性の違いが、各サイトの泥炭分解の季節変動様式の違いに影響していると考えられた。
また、フラックス観測タワーに設置したオープンパスメタンガスアナライザーを用いて、メタンフラックスの連続観測を開始した。
スマトラ島においては、火災を経験していない二次林サイトと火災を経験した焼け跡の2つのサイトを中心に、地下水中の溶存態有機炭素の量と質の変化を測定し、環境変動にともなう、溶存有機物動態を観測している。また、泥炭火災に関する実験をシンガポール南洋工科大との国際共同研究によって推進し、国際誌に誌上発表した。
各サイトのデータについては現在解析と論文化を進めており、最終年度に成果を国際誌、国際学会などで発表する。

初年度には泥炭火災の影響などもあり、観測の遅れが少し生じたが、2年目にはおおむね研究計画に沿って観測を進めることができた。

これまでに得られたデータの解析を進め、有力国際誌への投稿を目指して論文化を進めるとともに、継続している観測についてはさらにデータの収集を続ける。最終年度のため、研究全体の統括と取りまとめ、成果発表を重視する。
