Outline of Annual Research Achievements

単層カーボンナノチューブ(単層CNT)の成長メカニズム解明に向けた同位体炭素ラベリング法による走査型ラマン観察を行い,単層CNT成長のおける再成長メカニズムを明らかした.単層CNTやグラフェンなどナノ炭素材料をテンプレートとしたヘテロナノ材料の合成研究を進め,原子レベルでの高い構造制御や高品質のヘテロナノ材料の合成に成功した.透過型電子顕微鏡により,単層CNTおよびその外層に成長した窒化ホウ素ナノチューブの原子構造の関係性や成長のメカニズム,さらにその電気伝導特性や光学物性を明らかにすることができた.尚,これらの研究成果は,R. Xiang, et al., Science 367 (2020) 537.(2020年1月出版)にて報告し,国内外で高い評価を得ている.また,逆に六方窒化ホウ素原子状物質上に,高品質のグラフェンを合成することも実現した.これによりナノ炭素材料だけでなく,様々なナノ材料をテンプレートとし,複合的なヘテロナノ構造材料の実現の可能性を示すことができた.これらナノヘテロ構造材料のマクロスケールでの物性分析も進め,ヘテロ構造化による耐熱性・熱伝導率の向上を実現した.また,有機薄膜太陽電池応用に広く用いられるフラーレン誘導体(PCBM)の合成研究も進めた.様々な官能基を用いることで,PCBMのバンドギャップやエネルギー準位,薄膜としての物性を制御し,高効率な有機薄膜太陽電池の作製に成功した.さらに,ペロブスカイト型太陽電池において,光吸収層であるペロブスカイト層に微量の単層CNTを添加することで,その太陽電池性能の向上を実現した.
