Outline of Final Research Achievements

In university laboratories specializing in science and technology, a wide range of science and technology research is being promoted using a large amount of research funding from basic research to commercialization research. However, there are few opportunities for patent information to be used in the process of conducting these scientific and technological researches, and the literature on existing research is mostly academic papers. In this research, we examined the situation to utilize patent information in science and technology researches in universities. Then, based on the results of this survey, we confirmed that the patent information is effective for scientific and technological researches, clarified the consciousness of university researchers about basic research and commercialization research, and extracted the subjects to utilize patent information and proposed their solutions.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本研究により、大学での科学技術研究に特許情報活用が促進され、科学技術研究成果が産業界に近い内容となる。また、研究室の学生の目が産業界へ広がる。さらに、大学研究者に特許情報の検索、調査、分析手法を身に着けさせることにより、特許情報の活用を大学での科学技術研究にリンクさせ、大学での科学技術研究の更なる質の向上が期待される。結果的に、大学の研究成果の特許化が促進され、研究成果の適切な社会還元に寄与する。
