Outline of Annual Research Achievements

（U-Th）He系の年代測定法を発展させ新世代の熱年代学の手法を開発し，造山作用や大陸成長に伴い変化する地球表層環境の長期変動の理解に貢献することである．（U-Th）He系は閉鎖温度が低いため，山脈形成過程のような低温領域の地球史復元に有効な年代測定法である．もし鉱物中のHe濃度のゾーニングが測定できるようになれば，その鉱物が辿った熱履歴を完全に復元する道が拓かれる．しかしながら，Heの局所分析は，現在のところ，最高で数十μm領域に限られていて，α粒子リコイル損失の飛程を超えられていない．本研究では，独自に開発している新原理で動作する質量分析計LIMASを改良することにより，鉱物のサブミクロン領域における（U-Th）He系のその場年代測定に挑戦する．本年度は以下の研究成果が得られた．
1.ジルコンの4He濃度を，サブミクロンの分解能で測定する測定法を開発した．定量補正にはHeを既知量イオン注入したシリコン単結晶を用いた．
2.オーストラリアジャックヒル地域のジルコン結晶の測定を開始し，冥王代・大古代ジルコンの熱年代学を開始した．
3.鉱物中の成長中心から表面までのHeの濃度プロファイルを解析した．ジャックヒル地域ジルコン単結晶（粒径~100μm）中の4Heの濃度を5μmの空間分解能で分析することに成功し，その濃度は~10ppmであることを決定した．また，結晶全域にわたりほぼ均一に分布していた．結晶のリムにはリコイルロスによるHe濃度の減少が見られるはずであるが顕著な減少を検出することができなかった．このことは，最近までHeの拡散が起こっていたかもしれないことを示唆している．この点は，鉱物１粒から熱履歴を求める熱年代学を構築できる要素となり得るので，引き続き解析を続ける．
