Outline of Final Research Achievements

Understanding the facial structure of projections of the elliptopes is a fundamental question in convex optimization. In this study we showed a new connection between projections of the elliptopes and the classical distance polyhedra. Based on this connection, we developed a new combinatorial algorithm for the graph realization problem.
We also obtain a substantial contribution to graph rigidity theory. Among others we affirmatively settled a conjecture by Whiteley concerning the global rigidity of simplicial polytopes.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
